Did Biden fold because there does seem to be a great reluctance for millions of workers to return to work in any form? Or because inflation is currently increasing, thus a fear of adding to the problem? Is anyone in the Biden administration an MMTer? If not, they believe in balancing the budget and needing to taxes to offset any spending, such as, more unemployment benefits? (I wonder indeed why it makes sense to stop unemployment payments now, but should they be a bottomless, endless cash flow to all unemployed? If so, then why work, some may indeed ask themselves, no?)
