It's a privilege to write here. I value everyone who subscribes, especially those who add thoughtful comments, send me encouraging notes, and of course, those who financially support my work.
I’m happy to be a paid subscriber. I got a BA in Econ in 1978. I really appreciate your commentary, which is bringing me up to speed with current thoughts on macro. Thank you for what you are doing!
Your emails always brighten my day. Economics is a mere hobby of mine, but I read several economists on a regular basis. Yours are most certainly the most interesting and among the easiest to understand, except where I don't. But that fault lies firmly with the reader.
I’ve always enjoyed the photos from your walks because I recognize many of the locations in the area! (It’s also a good reminder to get back to walking around our neighborhood; the colder weather and early nights have driven me inside, which isn’t healthy.)
Bravo, keep going. Seems like both Blanchard and Krugman are headed for your, and my, central point: don't 'fix' inflation by punishing most of the people.
Otherwise, do you want discussion in comments, like this, or in other mechanisms?
ahem - if I read this correctly you said you walked 1.2 million miles in 2022??
Or over 3,000 miles per day - seems like you are off by a factor of 1000
