It's a privilege to write here. I value everyone who subscribes, especially those who add thoughtful comments, send me encouraging notes, and of course, those who financially support my work.
I saw the same thing, thought you must have walked to the moon five times, LOL. I do about 4 miles a day. Just recently started a paid subscription. I have been clueless about economics, but now find it intriguing and love reading your Substack. You seem so down to earth and can tell you truly care about the welfare of others. I really appreciate that.
I’m happy to be a paid subscriber. I got a BA in Econ in 1978. I really appreciate your commentary, which is bringing me up to speed with current thoughts on macro. Thank you for what you are doing!
Your emails always brighten my day. Economics is a mere hobby of mine, but I read several economists on a regular basis. Yours are most certainly the most interesting and among the easiest to understand, except where I don't. But that fault lies firmly with the reader.
Oh, no, it's purely me lacking the base knowledge. Learning macro as I have it's a web rather than built on foundational knowledge. And sometimes now that causes me to not comprehend what should be a pretty simple concept. I eventually figure it out and my base of knowledge grows.
I’ve always enjoyed the photos from your walks because I recognize many of the locations in the area! (It’s also a good reminder to get back to walking around our neighborhood; the colder weather and early nights have driven me inside, which isn’t healthy.)
Bravo, keep going. Seems like both Blanchard and Krugman are headed for your, and my, central point: don't 'fix' inflation by punishing most of the people.
Otherwise, do you want discussion in comments, like this, or in other mechanisms?
ahem - if I read this correctly you said you walked 1.2 million miles in 2022??
Or over 3,000 miles per day - seems like you are off by a factor of 1000
haha. oops. fixed. need my morning coffee :-)
I screwed up the steps to miles conversion. it's still more than the song ...

thank you. if something is confusing, please put a comment in. my goal is to make macro as accessible as humanly possible.
