Excellently presented, Dr Sahm. As a data connoisseur, I always devour your charts and graphs.

IMO, Warsh, in the quest to redefine inflation metrics, rings true to the expression 'figures lie and liars figure.'

PS: I personally will never refer to him as 'Chair' Warsh.

This is the right instinct — the aggregate almost always hides the distribution. Same reason a strong jobs print can sit on top of a labor market that's quietly splitting in two: a headline is an average, and nobody lives inside an average. Good to see the lens turned on prices ahead of tomorrow's number.
